Mega Star Chiranjeevi's nephew, Mega Brother Naga Babu's son Varun Tej is making his debut on silver screen turning Mukunda. He is waiting for his luck through Mukunda filn under the direction of Srikanth Addala. Let us see what impact he made with his debut.

Story:
Mukunda (Varun Tej) while returning to his village from Ameerpet, Hyderabad in a bus, starts remembering the days he enjoyed with his friends, especially Arjun and how he saved umpteen times from the attacks of Chairman (Rao Ramesh) supporters for loving his niece. Co passenger (Ali) calls police believing Mukunda's words that he committed a murder. To findout whether he really committed a murder and how he tackled village chairman (Rao Ramesh) who supress people for his benefits and what is his connection with Chairman's daughter (Pooja Hegde), enjoy Mukunda on silver screen.

Performances:

Debut hero Varun Tej is disappointed all the way with his performance. But Varun's serious look is apts for his role. He gave only one expression throughout the film. His dialogue delivery is good for few scenes and bad for few scenes. His dance moves are okay.
Pooja Hegde is just typical Telugu film heroine. She didn't had a chance to speak with hero in this film. Her role is limited to just songs.
Rao Ramesh performed well as heroine's father and a corrupt politician. Prakash Raj in limited role as a village typical person who gets vexed with  politics.
Ali failed to entertain as comedian. Only dialogue for Ali is 'Sorry'. Sekhar Kammula gave attractive cameo in climax. Person who acted as VarunTej's friend (Screen Name is Arjun) is not bad. Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Nassar, Staya Dev, Raghu Babu are okay in their limited roles. Rest of characters are just okay.

Technical Values:

Srikanth Addala came with old stuff. Story is Hero opposing village head or politician and educating people at the same time romancing with his daughter. But he highlighted human relations in the film. Romance between hero and heroine is not highlighted properly. Surprisingly, hero and heroine do not talk to each other even once.
Some of the dialogues are thought provoking and Srikanth wrote simple dialogues. 'Bus-lu manashulane kadhu vala ashalu korikalanu kuda mosthayyi", 'Vadi chuppulu artham avvali ante vache janma lo ammalia puttali'.
Mickey J Meyer's music attracts class viewers and youth. Background score is good. 'Yuganiki..' Song is misplaced.
Editor Marthan K Venkatesh could have chance to cut atleast 15-20 minutes of it's runtime of the film. Manikandan's cinematography is neat. Raju Sundaram's choreography is good. Fights are good. Production Values of Leo Productions is good.

Positives:

- Rao Ramesh
- Two songs
Negatives:

- Old Story
- Slow pace
- Lead cast love angle

Final Verdict:

Mukunda is a typical old regular village story with mixing of human relations.
Watch Mukunda film, if you can take serious and slow pace with less entertainment values and routine story line.

Bottomline: 'Palitham leni Prayathnam Mukunda...'

Rating: 2.5/5
